Our story
The story begins in 2017, when the people of Peru faced an unusual set of heavy rains, getting them into one of the worst flooding in the country in many decades. The damage caused by these floods was huge that affected around 1.8m people, causing 164 deaths. This was the time when people needed help from all sections of the local and global society. Elina Rosado, Nadir Poma, and Eveling Vega, the empathetic responders, who felt that it is also their responsibility to help the flood victims. The three cousins realized that those affected were left with nothing, and their daily living conditions were unbearable. So, they rose to the occasion and raised money within the circle of friends and family to help. They used their contacts and resources in the United States to raise funds and donations for people back in Peru. Their hard-fought efforts helped them to collect donations, shoes, clothes, food essentials, diapers, milk for kids, water, etc. which they sent to Peru in a 55' container.
With determination and a willingness to roll up their sleeves, they worked tirelessly to provide aid and support to those affected by the disaster. Their success in Peru inspired them to expand their reach, and since then, they have been working collectively to bring hope and support to people in need all around the world. This was just a beginning of a great cause as all three cousins started sharing a dream of making the world a better place to live, especially for those who are poor, needy, and vulnerable. Fueled by a passion to help those in need, they came together to form a non-profit organization with the goal of improving the lives of people all around the world. The foundation of their non-profit named “Yanapaway” was laid in 2022. Yanapaway is a word from the Quechua language, which means “help me”
Yanapaway is a “501C3” registered non-profit organization in the United States. The organization is looking to raise funds and donations from the private sector, business organizations, as well as, government agencies to have enough resources to support people all around the globe. At the heart of their organization is a deep commitment to making a difference in any possible manner. Driven by a desire to create positive change, they are committed to working tirelessly to bring hope and support to people in dire need. From providing disaster relief to supporting education and healthcare initiatives, their organization is going to be a beacon of hope for those who need it the most. Their story is also a testament to the power of compassion, dedication, and the unwavering belief that together, we can actually do so much. It is a reminder that no matter how small we may feel, every single one of us has the power to make a positive impact in this world.
